Hazard Lights = “Watch Out, I’m Being Stupid”

Something I *have* to comment on as I’m sitting on the Pike is people that drive with their hazard lights on.

Do you really think that putting your hazard lights on will make your driving in the breakdown lane any less illegal?

I think not. Thanks for making my long commute even longer down the road, while you try to force yourself back into a regular lane at the next exit.

Beer Run
Category: Dumb and Dumber

July 20th, 2004

I was on CNN’s website a little earlier today and read one of the funniest stories in my life.

Four inmates escaped from jail last Thursday night in Rogersville, Tennessee and went to get beer. Then they went back and partied with the other inmates.

Okay…let’s start going over the things that scream “What Happened?”

First…according to the story, the “cell block doors…were left unlocked and a faulty control panel failed to alert jailers.” So that explains how the inmates got out of the cell block. Next, two of the inmates “walked out through a fire exit, leaving the door propped open with a Bible, and made a hole in the exercise yard fence.” That brings up a load of questions, such as “Why aren’t jail fire exits like most other fire exits in that they alarm if opened?” (especially if this is a JAIL) Another question could be “HOW DID THEY GET TOOLS TO CUT A HOLE IN THE FENCE?”

Okay…so two inmates walked to a store and got some beer. Then they went back to the jail and shared it with some of their prison buddies. Then…if that wasn’t enough, two other inmates went and got some more beer from a different store when their first run-alcohol ran out. The last paragraph of the story reads “the store visits did not raise alarm because the inmates were wearing street clothes borrowed from other prisoners. The crowded jail does not have enough orange jumpsuits to go around.”

So how did the guys get the MONEY FOR THE BEER?

Get Your Butt Off the Road

July 3rd, 2004

I created a new category just for this entry. Griping.

I drove to Huntsville today to visit my parents for the Fourth. Once again, I notice that smokers throw their cigarette butts out the window.

Here’s the Wanderer’s Question of the Day:

If you don’t like the cigarette butt in your car when your done with it — what makes you think we want to see it litter the road? Take it home and dispose of it like you’re supposed to. If you don’t like the smell of it, then you may want to reconsider smoking in the first place.

Okay…I’m better now that I got that off my chest. Happy July 4th! Safe driving!
