If they didn’t make some changes — it would fail on television just like the original did.

I’m a pretty dedicated science fiction fan. I have the understanding that most of science fiction is based on facts but firmly planted in dreams.

The reason that science fiction doesn’t seem to fare well in the television ratings is that most people don’t spend the majority of their time watching non-sports or news programs. I don’t fault others for that, I just prefer watching programs with a little plot, thought, and imagination.

So let’s cheer for those who keep trying to make science fiction and sci-fi-ish programs more appealing to the masses!
